Excellent tour and experience
We planned this tour for our 18yr son who wanted “cheese & bread”. Giada was our guide and she tailored the tour to make sure he had plenty of cheese and bread!Giada is extremely friendly and welcoming providing the history of Venice through food. Everything we tasted was excellent, but she’d also gives us different choices along the way. We revisited several places later in our stay because they were that good. Our two teenagers agreed Giada and the tour were a highlight of our trip. By the end, she was a member of our family!P.S. Ask her about the chocolate shop and the liquid chocolate. Sad for us they were closed when we went back.

Best food tour in Venice
We had a great experience with Loris. He picked delicious local treats for us to sample, was very knowledgeable about the city and it’s history and was so pleasant and personable. Our kids appreciated the tour as well. Highly recommended! He also gave us great recommendations for other spots and activities.

We made a friend in Venice who also happens to be a tour guide!
Giada was an incredible host as she walked my fiancé and i through the ins and outs of Venice. As first time visitors, we had very little clue about much but left our time with Giada feeling like locals. Giada was very friendly, personable, funny and informative. We learned so much about the history, the traditions, the food — all while talking, walking, eating, and drinking our way throughout the canals. She made our stay in Venice very memorable!

Excellent walking food tour with local specialities
My husband and I did a street food tour with Giada when we first arrived in Venice and we had an amazing experience! I’d seen a recommendation of the tour & they had such a wonderful time with her and I am so glad we were able to do the tour as well! The food was incredible and Giada provided explanations for all of Venice’s specialties. She also gave a great overview of Venice’s history and took us to less touristy spots that we would have just walked right by on our own. Giada was extremely accommodating of my husbands egg allergy and gave us several options along the way. At the end of the tour, she gave us a couple of recommendations and also welcomed us to reach out (via WhatsApp) for anything we needed throughout our trip. Our tour with Giada was one of the highlights of our time in Venice and I highly recommend the experience to everyone! Easy meeting place in front of the Farmacia close to Rialto.

Excellent
Loris was very nice, upbeat and knowledgeable. We did a walking food & wine tour. We felt like we got great exposure to places we wouldn’t find on our own. Definitely recommend Loris.

A MUST do on your trip to Venice
This is a MUST do when you’re in Venice. We spent several weeks traveling all over Northern Italy and this was a highlight! Giada is such an incredible and knowledgeable guide and we got to see a side of Venice you don’t get to experience in a normal tour. She also spent months before texting me restaurant recommendations, hotels, logistics etc. that by the time I arrived in Venice I felt like I already knew her! She is the reason our trip was so special. As for the tour, the food is fantastic! We left with fully bellies! My favorites were the ham and cheese sandwich, the winery and the gelato!Thank you Giada for making our trip so special.

Great tour with local guide Loris. First thing we did after arriving in Venice. Visited lots of great places and learned about the local cuisine. Loris is a very nice guide, a local(obviously) and a self declared foodie. Highly recommended when looking for a great tour in Venice!!

My 15 year old daughter and I traveled through Venice over her Spring Break. We had the pleasure of taking this tour with Giada in the afternoon of our arrival. We spent 10 days in Italy and this was by far one of the best things we did! Giada was lovely, kind and engaging. She felt more like an old friend and we loved our time with her. She was kind enough to walk us back to our hotel after the tour was finished.
Giada introduced us to delicious eats on this tour but also tied in history and art in a way that appealed to my art student daughter. I thought I would mention the places we thought were highlights but quickly realized ALL of them were favorites. She also gave us restaurant recommendations not only for Venice, but for Florence, and Tokyo (a future trip for us). So just book this tour. Be open to trying new and different things, and some familiar ones too. It won’t disappoint!

I can’t say enough good things about Giada! She made our trip to Venice amazing. The walking tour was a highlight to our entire trip to Northern Italy.
She is incredibly knowledgeable on the history and culture of Venice and shows you a part of the city you wouldn’t get on another walking tour. It truly felt like we were visiting a friend in Venice as she took us to all of her favorite restaurants, food stops, drinks etc.
I can not thank her enough for making our trip so special.

We booked 2 tours with Your Local in Venice before we left Australia – Venice Street Food and Venice off the Beaten Tack in Dorsoduro. From the start all communication was very easy and efficient. Both tours took its to out of the way, quiet places to discover tasty food, delicious wines, great coffee, empty laneways, and locals enjoying their canals. Fabulous tours and well worth doing as they gave us a local’s view of Venice and took us to places we may never have found! Thank you Giada – it was fabulous and the highlight of our 4 weeks in Italy!

Giada is amazing, and her tour was incredible.
This review comes almost 9 months after our honeymoon when we actually went on the tour, which should be an indicator of how good it was that it lived long (and fondly) in our memory. The delay is only a reflection on our tardiness, and nothing more.
The tour was amazing, we ate and drank well, we learnt loads, and we laughed a lot. The variety of food and drink was top notch, we got to try different cocktails and wines; as well as cicchetti, deep fried fish, prosciutto, cheese (both melted and unmelted!) amongst others.
Sometimes food tours can be only about the food and drink, but Giada is so knowledgeable about Venice that we got insights into street names, historic events and local areas.
And as great as Venice was (one of our absolute favourite cities), and the food, and the wine, the absolute star of the show was Giada. Her knowledge of Venice, it’s food, people, shortcuts, and the wine were incredible and impressive. We didn’t stop laughing and having fun from the start, there were parrots, TV appearances, and rude bridges. It really felt like we were in the company of a good friend, and we often talk about how great the tour and Giada were; and how rubbish we are that we hadn’t gotten around to doing this review.
Well here is the review. 10/10. Amazing. We love Venice. We love Giada. We love mozzarella en carrozza.

Had booked this for myself and my mother for a couple hours after our arriving from our train in from Rome. It ended up being just me because the trip was a bit tiring for my mom – but that didn’t dampen anything! I was so happy when I met Loris and learned we are the same age, and it honestly felt like he was sharing his city with a friend. I had a couple of needs to be accommodated diet wise (no shellfish, no pork) and he navigated around that so gracefully.
We had several desserts, several drinks, delightful fried food, all while navigating Venice in the middle of Carnival! He helped me finish my food often because it was generous in portion. (Thank you!!!) We walked I think almost the entire circumference of Venice, he showed me the places he used to live, places he likes to go to on his own time, shared our interests, we met and spoke with many of the shop owners, all while Loris was giving me history lessons on the places we were walking past. He is a wealth of information, so passionate and in love with his city. I felt so connected and enjoyed all of the new things I was learning and tasting. We also had a fun time discussing Venetian winds and tides, as they are a special interest of mine and I believe overlap with his fishing and boating interest.
He gave me a wonderful list of restaurant recommendations, we tried several places my mother and I and they were lovely. I retraced our food path with my mother the next day as well so she wouldn’t miss out, of course I couldn’t give the same details along the way as Loris did, but I did my best to share what I learned. Venice is a labyrinth and Loris is a beacon. It was sad to say goodbye but I know I will be back with my entire family, and maybe my friends next time.
Getting to know Venice through the eyes of Loris was a privilege. I know he kindly gave me more of his time than the booking was for. He also walked me home since I was a little nervous about my navigation skills on the first day.
Thank you Loris for giving me extra time and sharing your wonderful food and history with me. I can’t wait to come back.

Giada & Loris are the best guides to Venice one could wish for. They both know everything there is to know about local & regional specialties, and where to get the best chiccetti, dishes and wines the city has to offer. Our tour focused mainly on Cannaregio, where they showed us those hidden treasures you can only find when taken there by locals. My wife and I have been to Venice a few times, but I can say without a doubt that you don’t really know the city until you’ve done a tour with Giada & Loris!
